YES

The official fan site (www.yesworld.com) contains links to news, images, discography, lyrics, band members and their personal sites, and much more. The official fan newsletter is Notes From The Edge.

Yes is lead by Jon Anderson, one the group's founders and my long time "spiritual" inspiration. His emphasis provides the deep meaning behind the lyrics and much of the ethereal, powerful nature of Yes' music. He has released numerous solo works and collaborations (especially nice are his works with Vangelis). Jon is a watercolor artist too - here's MY favorite (it's part of my art collection :-)...

Tales From Topographic Oceans (1975)
"Tales" or "Topographic Oceans" is my all-time favorite piece of music. It is a double album, each side is a separate "movement" exploring the roots and experiences of our consciousness. Listening to Tales has often amazed me with "I've never heard THAT before" experiences of realization that the music and lyrics are both deeply complex yet uniquely and simply applicable to my life in that moment.

The Ladder (1999)
Dramatic and strong rock n' roll - still with the Yes sound and details.

Magnification (2001)
This release includes an orchestra (replacing a missing keyboard player quite well).

Close To The Edge (1972)
Many people's favorite Yes album; it is consistently voted number 1 in fan polls. The title track was Yes' first extended piece (a whole album side) with 4 movements threaded together.

Keystudio (2001)
Released a few years later, this album contains the studio (new music) tracks from two other favorites: Keys To Ascension I & Keys To Ascension II. The music was the first in many years that included Rick Wakeman in the writing and performing. I particularly enjoy the extended pieces That, That is and Mind Drive.

Change We Must (1994) - Jon Anderson Solo
This one of Jon's releases has some orchestral accompaniments. He released here a version of "State Of Indepence" that was on an early recording with Vangelis. The lyrics, "I know why I'm alive...," are very inspiring.
Angel's Embrace (1995) - Jon Anderson Solo
Olias of Sunhillow (1976) - Jon Anderson Solo
